What's the max temperature for an AMD-FX 8300 cpu? [I Love Computers]

I'm using HWmonitor to monitor my CPU temps. The one night, my PC shut down at 185° F. It's when I'm playing games on Steam that my CPU temps seem to really go up. I've since had to take the side of the case off the tower, just so that I won't overheat.

But I've done research and I can't find any information that tells me on this AMD chip what its max temperature is. And I'm reading a lot of different things, like one site said most CPU's tap out at 100° C (212° F) and that's not true for me.

If there's any solid information you can provide, it'll be greatly appreciated, thank you :)

I may not be an expert, but it sounds like you have a MAJOR cooling issue. Fans not working right, too much dust, no airflow, something. I doubt you should be anywhere close to the "tap out" temperature range.
Different machines and different chipsets reduce clockspeed when temperatures rise ... to reduce heat generation.

Some do it at set points ... long before it reaches critical temperature .... some do it as cascade

Sounds like your screen driver is using the main processors driving up the heat there.

Separate graphic board could help ... or a heavy fan flow or a thermocouple in chill mode.

Would recommend a new PC with a separate high speed graphics processor

@geoam1 Yea, I do plan on getting newer case fans and then see how all that goes. Gonna be a little bit though, always seem to be tight on funds :(

Anything less than smoke or fire should be good
