I Have Random Thoughts

We've been having some problems with mice lately. It's getting better. There was one mouse, however, that was really slow and couldn't see well. It got really close to me on several occasions, and it had some breathing problems. Instead of running away, it would just sigh and drag itself off when it noticed me. It was a little sad. I found it dead this morning at the base of the stairs. My son and I named it and gave it a little burial outside (his idea). Timothy will be missed. 馃惌

Time to get a cat. Pick a cat that knows how to hunt. You can rescue a feral kitten that's been with it's (feral) mother long enough to learn to hunt (over 6 weeks old). Or pick a kitten from a litter that has been taught to hunt by the mother cat. Your rodent problems will be in the past.

@greenmountaingal "taught to hunt by the mother cat." do you mean a feral kitten?

@Fernie Some mother cats know how to hunt; they learned from their mothers and will pass on their skills to their kittens, usually at around 6-8 weeks. It takes them about 2-3 weeks to teach them if there are prey available in the area. Not all cats that know how to hunt are feral cats. But, of course, a feral cat must know how to hunt to survive, so you can be sure a young feral kitty will know how.

You're sweet. I'm not too fond of them but I dont like to see them hurt or suffering either.

@Harriet03 Yes, if cats could read (like this smart kitty) this is surely what they would read. This, and Machievelli.
