I Have Random Thoughts

Did you ever rewind a moment in time. That passionate first kiss, to go back and relive it over again. To feel that soft sensual lip upon yours, hoping it would last forever. To look deeply into someone's eyes and hold that gaze for a moment frozen in time and then rewind that moment when you need to feel it again. So many moments I would love to rewind. My first visit to Vermont during foliage season. To see the vivid colors of fall, crimson, yellow and rust on an old oak tree as it readies itself for the coming harshness of winter. The smell of a wood burning stove, the crackling of a fireplace and the crispness in the air as nature begins to weave its tapestries.

To rewind to when life was idyllic and serene. In my minds eye, I rewind to a ticking clock, which holds all those moments of what ifs and what haves. As the years pass, those memories will fade, replaced by moments, not days, weeks, months or years. Oh, how I long to press that rewind button and return to my youth and remember what was. If only fast forward would be just as rewarding as rewind.

We tend to remember the good about the past and let the painful and awkward moments fade. I have heard it argued that it is a survival of the species trait....without it no woman would have a second child.

I wax nostalgic in autumn, my favorite time of year. I pray that I can enjoy every minute of it while adding to my bank of memories.

@bowman81 enjoy those moments for they are present for a little while and then become memories.

Going back in my mind to specific moments is my way to cope with stressful times in my life. Reliving them seems to bring a serenity to me. Some moments can be sexual in nature, some childhood memories when life was just perfect or a specific memory so strong I can still smell those smells that made me smile. I need those moments to help me stay mellow.

@whatalife68 yes, it is those moments that make us whole.

Exactly. And remind us life is a fun adventure worth exploring.

The autumn air can blow in romance as well as spring.
