I Am Australian

I don't like Rosie Batty, so shoot me. But, I certainly don't stand by Mark Latham's comments on her today.

What happened to her son was a tragedy for sure, and I am in no way trying to reduce that. But, I'm not entirely sure why she is the pin-up girl for violence against women. I am further confused as to her credentials in social and gender history of Australia.

I am tired of marginalisation and/or tragedy catapulting un-educated simpletons (read: unpublished or with no credentials) into the arena of influence makers. The sad truth is, these people are either terribly ignorant or are used as puppets propped up for whatever cause that needs to further their social agenda.
