I Love the Weekends

Aren't Friday nights and Saturday mornings just the most precious lowkey gifts from above? It's nice to be able to wind down after a crazy crazy CRAZY week, not only a total contrast from the week before me, but the craziest week I have faced thus far!

Monday started off with a bang (Or for those who don't declare a new day till it's dawn, Sunday night), I had to wake up at 4 am to leave to go off to college with my Mom for Orientation that morning, Bless her heart she had to drive ALL the way there AND back (But to be fair I only feel but so bad because it was her who insisted on driving instead of simply just coming the night before and staying on campus for an extra $30, or just staying at a nearby hotel and arriving earlier, but nonetheless, my mother is still dynamite). The car ride there was so peaceful , I couldn't help but dozing off. By the time I had awoke, we were 2/3 there, and we were in the mountains. Idk what it is about mountains , but it's just a wonderland that I just cant get over (if you can get pass the incessant colds in the winters and that ear - popping thingy that occurs as elevation increases). We arrived on gtime, got our rooms, socialized a bit, and got down to buisness. It was an interesting two days.

Also, my dorm building is freaking huge!!!

Like, what the heck??? A building with 1000+ students, and NO AC whatsoever!!!

Nonetheless, the experience overall was great, met plenty of people , my roomate for the night was SUPER chill, I'd definitely hang with her again. The food there is not only diverse but GOOD ( Their pizza is to DIE for!!) , the Dean and the rest of the facility and staff were cool, altho throughtout the two days they basically crammed a lot of info down your throat, it's really hard to soak it all in, but i believe i got the most important details sponged in my mind. Day two of orientation was much better, with lots of free time, and we obtained our schedules for the fall after speaking with our counselors, and going through all requirements of out Major and what not. Since I'll be pursuing Elementary Education, my requirement/expectations are definitely high. But I'm up for it, a challenge is always a must. Besides, I just know I'm gonna be a bomb-a** teacher someday, I can feel the creativity bubbling within me!!!

We were finally left a little after 1, made it back home that night in time for supper, for my Mom, a well-deserved sleep. we savored what we had left to cherish of the night before the next day

Aka: My first day at Summer Daycamp with my church.

(I'll refer to this picture as "The Calm before the Storm". This is what my Day one looked like before the kids had came in that morning)

With being a new instructor, as well a young one (the youngest, actually), I had alot to prove. The day was pretty good, the younger kids were an absolute delight, the older ones, not so much. And there's always that thirsty older kid who thinks she's my age or something, and I'm thinking "Little girl, sit down and drink yo milk!" And something else that got me: chokers. The fact that I saw so many chokers on kids age range between 9-12 was alarming. I mean, I knew they were popular and all, but sheesh! All in all, day one went just fine, I think the other instructors respect me some, even got some of the kids cozying up on me,hugging up on me, asking for selfies and whatnot. See, I'm not as firm as the other instructors, but I'm firm enough I believe. And so far, with all the kids I've had to talk to, they've shown me the same courteous respect they'd give the adults, altho I've had one who was a back-talker, but that was handled. We had went to the movies, and then the skating rink. Omg the skating played so much trap music it was RIDICULOUS! I was debating if we had ended up in a club by mistake. I thought it was cute when some the kids tried to skate and dance at the same time, especially the ones who were just starting out that day. I didn't skate myself, as in the past I was the heifer that fell and busted her a** every 5 seconds, I didn't feel like repeating history.

By the time we arrived back, and camp was about over for the day, the kids were worn out. So what we so is at the end of the day, about the last hour we place everyone in a room, put in a movie while the kids who get picked up/dropped off by our church vans depart with them while the rest just watch the movie till their parents come and get them. And hours go between 8-5 Monday-Friday, while for employees it's 7:30-5:30 (since kids' parents sometimes don't know what it means to pick up their kid on time).

The next two days are remotely the same, and by Friday, I'm all pumped, especially to go home and sleep all day.

So with the week I had, I'm just doing some chores, and starting on that show Stranger Things all my friends keep raving on about .

Anyways, I hope everyone enjoys their weekend as well!!!!! ๐Ÿ˜Š
