I Believe Family Is Very Important
Growing up it was usually just me and my Mom for Christmas and it was nice and everything but I always saw Christmas movies with these big families together celebrating together and I always sort of wished I had that too.
A year and a half ago my mom married my stepdad and suddenly instant family. It was the four of us, stepdad, stepbrother, mom and me and that was kind of nice. We even had an occasional family friend stop by for a visit. It seemed more Christmassy and nice to me.
This year it was the four of us plus my stepdad's brother, his wife and their two kids - 8 people in a smaller house. Everyone was tripping over everyone else, I had to share my bedroom with a 12 year old cousin, tons of cooking and clean up and I was totally busy all the time.... and it was really great. I think with Christmas and family, more the merrier.
