I Have Embarrassing Childhood Memories

I remember every May Day and weeks leaving up to it , learning to may pole dance , in our primary school it was mixed dancing . Alternate boys and girls , and group Morris dancing too

It would be a pity if it put you off folk-dancing, or any dancing I suppose, but I can understand because young boys do, or at least used to, regard dancing as somehow sissy.

Then they become old enough to discover night-clubs, where I gather that showing any genuine musical or dancing skill is Not Done.

I am very two-left-footed, but until I developed arthritis, I enjoyed the occasional barn-dance - though I've never quite understood why it's compulsory to call them "ceilidhs" even when very far from the Highlands and Islands!

A friend calls them "colliders". ;)

@Sharon LOL!

I am not surprised, having had often to think very rapidly such things as which hand or direction is left or right, especially where it's difficult to hear the caller clearly!

"About Memories"

Memories are a great gift
Memories are given to us by God
As a keepsake and a treasure
Memories allow us to call upon the past

Memories can teach us
About what things are good to repeat
Memories they warn us
About what things should never
Be allowed to happen again

Memories are a gift of the past
That we hold in the present
To create what can be a great future
Treasure and keep memories
For the sake of life

Memories allow and offer
And help and support
And teach and warn about life

How sweet indeed...😊
