I Am Afraid of Change

Today at the daily meeting, my boss announced that he’s leaving to take another job.

This is a good change for him, but might not be good for us. Of all the bosses I’ve ever had, he’s been one of the best. He doesn’t put up with bullshit, but he’s very reasonable; and he keeps a cool head.

I’m trying to think that somebody who is also a good boss might replace him. But I’m afraid of change, because for the past 5 years, most of the changes in my life have been changes for the worse, not for the better.

I do not miss the corporate world, there was always something causing stress. I was fortunate to have good bosses and some great ones. I only had one bad boss but she was a wonderful person. Too bad she just did not have a manager personality, could not discipline or make a hard decision.

That's a tough one it's so important to have a boss who you can work well with.
I understand about change, it can be difficult when nothing seems certain... but not all change is bad... 🦋

It is a very scary thought of being underneath a potential asshole, but you have to keep a positive outlook and trust that the company will hire somebody that will do a good job.

you could always ask your boss if there are any openings in the place he's moving to. Change can sometimes be for the best too.

When the position is advertised, why not apply?

@HerKing ROFLMAO! There are at least 2 people who are much better qualified. Plus, our company’s CEO is not fond of me.

@SmartKat Being fond of someone isn't a qualification.. I've worked for and with people who I wouldn't piss on if they were on fire; But they were good at their job. Nothing ventured nothing gained...What do you have to lose? It shows initiative.
