I'm An Open Book If You Care To Read Me
So my New Years resolutions were to get pregnant and to make my fella more of a priority.
I’ve been struggling a bit with making him a priority. He’s just been...well, he’s been whatever 😜 But, now that I’m pregnant I’ve got all these crazy hormones amplifying all my worries and frustrations lol. So, I’ve decided to start a little smaller. I’m going to start trying to write something each day that he does for me. Whether it’s sweet, kind, thoughtful. Whatever it is. I’m just going to start with appreciating the smaller things more. I think I’ve been nagging him so much that he’s just exhausted and feels like he can’t win. Plus he’s got his dad on his case saying all kinds of hurtful stuff all the time lately. (I can’t wait til we can tell him we’re pregnant and get him to shut up lol) I know the better I treat him, the better he will treat me. If you’ve ever heard the phrase, “The way you see people is the way you treat them, and the way you treat them is what they become." Well, I really do believe that. Why do you think people can be so different around different people? Why do you think people prefer to be around people who make them feel good about their self?
So, for today...
1. When I kissed him goodbye this morning he gave me the sweetest smile and told me to drive safe.
2. When I got home from work he was doing the dishes and had the roomba running.
3. He took the time to listen to me talk a little bit tonight and didn’t make any snide comments.
4. He was respectful and didn’t make me feel guilty when I said I needed a nap before going to the grocery store.
I’ll throw in one from yesterday...
1. He surprised me with dinner when I got home from work. BLT’s. He never does that.
Oh, and one more...
2. He gave me a pair of earrings for his favorite hockey team. Now did he buy them or did he find them on the ground somewhere? I have no idea...but the fact that he saw them and thought of me, that is very sweet.
