I Am From Kentucky

I moved to Paducah, Kentucky - 90 miles west of Owensboro that another commentator mentioned - from northern Ohio when I was 12.

I went to Junior and Senior High School at Paducah Tilghman High School, and moved to Lexington to attend undergrad and law school at the University of Kentucky.

I then moved to northern Michigan in 1987 at age 36. Although neither my origins or my present abode are in Kentucky, my heart remains there forever.

I have been to the infield of the Kentucky Derby twice, one neice was a princess of the Derby around 1990 or so, and I have spent much time over the years exploring and camping in eastern Kentucky. I particularly love the Red River Gorge.

I also love "lamb fries"! It's a central Kentucky delicacy - don't ask - and is a specialty of several Lexington restaurants, including Columbia Steak House. Live life large; indulge yourself and try the lamb fries.
