I Love Horror Movies

Better late than never - back to my top ten countdown! Number 9 on the list, again in no particular order, I'm going with The Voices, an indie gem from 2014 starring Ryan Reynolds. This is more creepy than horror, a common theme with me. This makes my list as a horror comedy movie, which I usually don't like, but this movie made me laugh, so its officially my first horror comedy I like! It's a view of a serial killer from inside his own mind, when he knows he's not quite right. It also presents a difficult conversation about mental illness and medication. I see how this is either a movie you could love or you hate; for me, I was charmed the whole way through. I mean, c'mon - it's Ryan Reynolds. It is funny but you feel too creeped out to laugh; it's creepy but simultaneously too funny to be really creepy. And when - tiny spoiler alert here - the girl is in his apartment and figures it out, you really sympathize with him, and want her to just forget it and go back to dating him, they're so cute together! But you know she won't ... so alright, better kill her too. The end is hysterical and, oddly, happy. Good flick, original and engaging.
It is so hard to find a good horror movie.
It looks like you have become quite the student!
