I Beat a Drug Addiction

I beat an addiction to pain pills, morphines actually. Started popping them when I was 19 and by the time I was 20 I couldn't get out of bed without them. When I didn't have them the withdrawal was unbelievable.. Once I realized I was addicted I took myself to the hospital and they put me on Suboxone, and within a few months I was off the morphines but hooked on the Suboxone, soooo I just made myself quit that cold turkey and it's been good ever since.

Did you find that it gave you a lot of confidence in your abilities and willpower? I felt that when I managed to beat an addiction. It's made me have much more faith in myself. Either way, it sounds like you've done something that not everyone is capable of. Well done!

GlassDog, thank you. Yeah it definitely gives me faith in myself, and confidence that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. Every time I accomplish a goal big or small, I get stronger and more invincible.

Way to go! That is not easy to do. Congratulations! Love and respect.

Good for you!
I went through rehab 3x and twice was for doctor prescribed pills.
I'd hate to imagine how much more difficult cold turkey must've been.

Congratulations. That takes a lot of character and strength. My son is also a recovered addict so I've seen it first hand.
