You and her may just have mutual friends and your heartfelt message will be relayed.
I missed what happened, but I cannot imagine anyone taking you the wrong way unless they completely missed your intent and were having a really bad day.
This is why I never block over a single comment or action I perceive as being rude or sarcastic without some sort of real history of malice behind it. I personally try my best to ignore people that try and get negative attention from me.
If I may say, I think you are extraordinarily kind to publicly apologize to someone here. There are not enough people like you on social media formats.

People ARE so quick to block here. 😏 Pretty soon they'll be talking to themselves since people are becoming so sparse around here!😆🗣️ I clear out my "friends list" often and got blocked from a person I NEVER hear from?🥺 I honestly didn't think she'd even notice.👀Like you, I tried to apologize if I offended her.🤷I guess I'm weird about the "friends list," it doesn't mean the same thing to all of us...

I recently experienced something similar. I used a phrase like "if you think that..." , meaning "if one thinks that..." , but the person I was conversing with thought I was referring to him personally and was insulting him. I tried explaining, but he had written me off, although I don't think he blocked me.
I felt bad about it, but "it happens."

Maybe she will come back after she cools down. I hope she does for you
Piper · 61-69, F
Thank you, @Eddiesolds. This apology is to someone I've rarely even interacted with though, and I just hope she'll know that I'm sorry my comment came off the way it did.

The blocking feature is a bit odd to me. When people add you to their profile, removing them automatically counts as blocking them and I don't know why that should be. lol So, I spend time unblocking too.
I haven't blocked anyone and won't without a really good reason. I've been blocked and found it funny. :)

@SW-User It was to me too, on the first similar site I joined and participated on. While it's still kind of odd to me what some people block over. it's no longer surprising. I'm not sure what you mean though, about removing someone counting as blocking.
I did block someone once, myself, because of a message they sent. I did unblock him.

The unfortunate thing is that once someone blocks, they won’t know they received an apology. 🙁

I wouldn't worry about it too much. People who are too quick to block usually get offended too easily, and you'd have to walk on eggshells around them.

Somebody actually just blocked me because I wished them well. This is a very strange night.
Piper · 61-69, F
@SW-User Good grief. It sure is baffling sometimes, what motivates a person to block.
SW-User
@Piper I block people who are rude or attacking, but I would not block someone for saying that they care about me. And that is what this other person did to me. It is perplexing -- sort of a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
Once more, you show yourself to be very classy. How different this is from the standard rant "someone blocked me for no reason!"
I hope that this person somehow learns of how you feel and what you intended.

It's really hard with text to show someone how things are meant sometimes.
Then theres the no sen sense of humor thing to add to it.

Maybe she'll unblock.

@Piper I do it all the time. Usually I catch on before posting but sometimes I end up posting a reply to a question that wasn't asked or something quite irrelevant to what was really being discussed. Then I slink away and hope no one notices.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
Been there, done that.
Piper · 61-69, F
@samueltyler2 Which thing?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Piper made some comment to a so-called SW friend and was blocked before I could apologize. If she had only given me the chance to explain, maybe we could have patched things up.
Piper · 61-69, F
@samueltyler2 It would be nice, if some people were no so quick to use the block option.

They did you a favor by blocking dint sweat it
Bertie · 46-50, F
Hope someone told her. 😔

I don't care if someone blocks me. I'm seldom serious here, and if someone gets offended at my inputs, oh well.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
Dont apologize.

@RogueLoner You do not, of course, have any idea how often I'VE been forgiven for something I've done or or said.

@RogueLoner IF you had a pretty good idea, then you would know that what you said is simply not true. We agree that it's irrelevant here, what you think you know about when, why or often I've been "forgiven".
I do feel bad for you, Mister Loner, that you feel you are treated differently online than most others. That must be rough, feeling singled out that way. MY "point" of my post though, was feeling that I owed someone an apology about a comment I made. That, and wishing people weren't so quick to block. Being "forgiven" or expecting to be "forgiven or unblocked, was not what motivated it.
