It's pretty disgusting when a society destroys historical statues because they are offended. Oh my gawd. Is it so awful to have a pair of testicles?

When did it become cool to be spineless wimps? I am so disgusted by these sickening pansies and cupcakes that go to such lengths to prevent being offended, and spend most of their spare time thinking up more reasons to be offended. I hope I can offend every one of them as much as possible before I die.

I don't understand how people think that by pulling down statues it suddenly erases history or the feelings that come with that history, positive or negative. Putting ones head in the sand doesn't erase an issue or unresolved feelings, it just tries to ignore it. What do we do in the future if some issue arises and our past holds to key to resolution but we're too neutered by political correctness to even mention it without fear of censure or possible physical violence?

Why does everyone need a safe space these days?
@Fernie: fascism exists on all sides. Look at antifa and how left they are. Look at the so called middle who are largely supporting this historical destruction and enabling the political correctness fascists on the left. Once could even call my people fascists and we're on right.

It's all over. It's all about control.

@EllaDisenchanted: bullshit
@Fernie: Not at all. If shutting down free speech is done through violence then it's a form of fascism. If I punch you in the face because you say something I don't like then I'm trying to control you through physical violence and fear. I am acting as fascist.

It doesn't take a political leaning or mindset to be a rump.

@masterofyou: you cannot compare your plane with symbols of hatred

@Fernie: What???
@Kimmler: We need to be offended. This ridiculous insulation is the most offensive thing I've ever seen! HERE WE ARE STOPPING THE SPREAD OF COMMUNISM. HEROES DID THIS,. IT'S CALLED 'ABSTRACT THOUGHT'. THINK! IT DOESN'T HURT.
What's next .. I remember Michelle obummers speach..'everyday my kids wake up in a house slaves built'
Does the White House have a demolition date? If we erase history for sensitivity reasons they throw away the race card if there's no proof left of how we got here..

@theoneyouwerewarnedabout: Most likely....

I find those attempts to change history so ridiculous. They happen everywhere. Now it happens in the US with Confederate generals. Statues of Lenin and Stalin were taken down when the USSR disappeared. Streets names ate changed. It makes me wonder, if those who are in power are so persuaded of their strength and legitimacy, why are they so afraid of the past?

I hope some kid will ask his parents 'why are they pulling down the statue? Who is that man?'. And the kid will learn a name and a story that he might never have been familiar with otherwise.

It's very much like the way the Soviet Union erased each previous regime from their history books.

@Kimmler: Some of those statues, even bits thereof, are in museums. These statues of American history are being set up for destruction. Along with the monuments and places of civil rights history.
AbbeyRhode · F
They have completely lost their minds. They are triggered by everything, including walls and floors, and they want the whole world to be a big, safe, rubber room for them.

"spineless wimps, human slugs, pantywaist bitches"...really? Like not ONE person who wants the monuments downhas a valid reason!!!! Like maybe what they represent to THEM in THEIR lives? Removal of the monuments has drawn praise from those who saw them as brutal reminders of slavery and symbols of the historic oppression of black people. If there were statues of women being raped , men paid no consequences then, wouldn't just about every women in 2017 want them dismantled because of what they represent? I wish they could stay up as a reminder of what we are capable of...horror wise...not all the folks wanting them gone are the disgusting names you've called them..or have the same reasons for being offended by the monuments
USAalltheway · 31-35, M
Yeah, I'm extremely offended by those people. We need to make them stop offending us so much.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
We can't erase history, nor should we, but that doesn't mean that statues that many people find offensive should be displayed in locations where they will continue to be offensive. I don't believe those statues removed in New Orleans are being destroyed. They should be moved to a museum or museums where people can continue to see them at their discretion, as a reminder of our slave-owning past.

@windinhishair: Sounds good to me
Fernie · F
Even I disagree with them being taken down. Lots of us "libtards" disagree with it. We aren't clones

@puck61: The meaning of the word has been spread so thin only the real Liberals understand. I agree with you

@Kimmler: Who's proud of that? I love our military but that's far different from being proud of a war we didn't even try to win. It was an embarrassment, just as those who were against it wanted it to be.
@Kimmler: There's a statue to king George back in PA. And there's monuments and murals of natives all over the place, especially in the west.
@EllaDisenchanted: The town I lived in after getting out of the service had a huge statue of Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce . He's a pretty big deal in the Northwest. His surrender speech should be common knowledge to any high school graduate, but unfortunately...learning isn't cool. It's much more important to insure that American flag Tee shirts are prohibited, and conservatives are prevented from lecturing. Sorry. I'm a little bitter.

Whats so important about the statues anyways?
@EllaDisenchanted: You have my respect and admiration. You have said this about as well as it could possibly be said. Thank you.
therighttothink50 · 56-60, M
@EllaDisenchanted: Yes they are too busy reading EPA manuals in school today, indoctrination is cool. Math, history, english, real science are not useful in the group thought indoctrination process. Critical thinking, reasoning and logic need not apply.
@therighttothink50: My family moved out of Lancaster when I was a bit young and where we moved to didn't have a big community,so we were forced to go to mainstream public school. We were bullied, called redneck and hick, all that. But in the end I was one of the few in my grade that knew history and geography. There were a couple of teachers that aired me about the joys of high school and college, how much better it got because I'd meet people as well read and interested in the important things I tended to enjoy......
