Something like....Man on the moon by Andrew Chaikin.
The story of how the U.S. space programme came into being and the missions and men behind it.
OR....Genius of Britain by Robert Uhlig.
A book about those rare genius folk from the UK who have done extraordinary scientific things !
I can't remember its title but I read it when I was 11 it was horror in the adult fiction section of the library I still remember it to this day so vividly...also it disappeared the week after I finished reading it never found it again
