What is the correct way to pronounce "Michigan"?

I've heard some say "Mitch-igan" and some say "Mish-igan". Which is correct?
I’ve never heard it pronounced “Mitch—igan”.

@Spoiledbrat I haven't, either. It may be pronounced that way by the same people who say supposibly and and asterick.

Michigan. The real test is pronouncing Macinac Island.

The correct term is “that school up north”. Ohio State fans will know what I mean.
