Why are apples associated with teachers?

As a result of Eve's quest for knowledge , the apple became a symbol for knowledge

Beginning with Eve wanting to be as God/gods

Though I personally don't think it was an apple that made God curse Eve with pain in childbirth ,make Adam have to toil and support his own kids ,or make them realize they were naked when it was never an issue before

The apple gets the blame ,though they made clothes from fig leaves ?

I think the winged cherub ,most handsome being ever created had more to offer then an apple ,,just my opinion

But everything I find with giving an apple suggests it stands for Knowledge

Apples keep doctors away. Teachers are in short supply so maybe it's a way of reducing sick days

Their not paid enough to afford their own or go on sick days. So win win.

Tree of Knowledge, maybe?

Like apples for your body, teachers keep your mind healthy.
