Should I go to class? HELP

So, I am a theatre major at my local community college.
Let me make one thing clear right off the bat: I DESPISE stagecraft. (It’s basically a wood shop class.) Tools are not my thing, and I feel like the instructor is very knowledgeable, but he has the mentality that the students should be able to pick up the information and then just magically understand what he is talking about. For a big portion of our final, we are supposed to build a box. On the day we worked on drawings for the box, I couldn’t decide if I wanted to build a toolbox or a keepsake box, and I was VERY confused as to what to do. However, my teacher is kind of intimidating, and I have a ton of anxiety. I was WAY too scared to ask for help. So as he was walking around offering help, he asked me what kind of a box I was going to build. I said I didn’t know, and he proceeded to say (very loudly, I might add.) “FIGURE IT OUT. You’ve been here for an hour.” Then, all of the other students proceeded to turn to look at me, and I felt very embarrassed. Then, on the day that he was teaching us how to use the tools for the project, I had so much anxiety after that event about my math on my cut list being wrong after I told him I understood it (and him raising his voice to me about picking which box) because he got frustrated when I didn’t ask for help and when I wasn’t understanding it after he explained it. I still don’t understand; I just didn’t want to deal with him.) So that day, I was feeling really low and physically could NOT go to class. The first day of building the box in class, the thought of going to his class made me feel like I wanted to hurt myself, so I drove around sobbing and feeling like a failure. We have two more class days before the final, and I am NOT prepared to build this box. If I go in there not having the drawings done to his liking or this list done correctly, especially after not emailing him about the day I was gone with learning how to use the tools (I genuinely forgot, and am now too nervous to talk to him.) I feel like I’ll get chewed apart. I literally am having bad thoughts just thinking about going to class. What should I do?

If its affecting you so much mentally probably dont go. Is it an important class? Like if you fail it will it affect your like degree? Tbh, if I was you I'd be googling like crazy trying to get an understanding of what to do Haha. And as much anxiety you get, ya gotta actually talk to the the prof in college if you dont know what your doing. I dont like talking in front of people cause of anxiety so I just talk to them after my class or lecture finishes.

Go to class and build a keepsake box. Even if carpentry isn't "your thing", it comes in handy for anyone living independently - whether you're hanging a picture or tightening a loose door hinge - so a wee bit of experience with tools isn't a bad thing at all.
In such an iffy profession it's very good to have as many skills as possible and you won't learn anything about stagecraft not going to class. It can't be worse fhan you expect and it might be better.

Go to his boss and explain, maybe? Or approach him in office hours where its one on one and he cant embarass you in front of your classmates? (tho I doubt that'll have a great outcome).

I think you need to go see a therapist. If you're having anxiety over choosing what kinda of box to build for a class then you need to talk to someone to help you with life.
