How much reading should high school students do?

@33person I’d say make it a book a week, and a book of their choice. Fiction or nonfiction. Whatever will get them to sit and lose themselves for hours.

Well, when I was in high school, which wasn't very long ago, we already did a lot of reading. Especially if you take advanced classes. In mainstream classes, they usually read about two or three books a year for English. Maybe one more for history. A bit of outside reading wouldn't do any harm, but not everyone has the time or resources to read.
