In some subjects bias is somewhat inevitable. Try arguing for something you are completely against, it's bloody hard. It just has to be acknowledged by the professor and they need to try and give fair explanations of different viewpoints, get students to make their own opinions and make sure they feel free to express their opinions without being looked down on. Students should also be challenged on their opinions. I've had professors who I've agreed and disagreed with who didn't look down on anyone and both would challenge my beliefs. Even ones I agreed with would challenge me with opposing views. Yes some will maybe change opinions because of points a professor made but the student's previous opinion will have come from family or friends or the media. Also subjects like history, politics, sociology or even art or something would defintely not have been as enjoyable to me without professors having opinons.
