Any IT professionals, who went to school?

I am currently back in school getting a second degree in Information Technology. I would love some guidance on how to put myself out there for possible job offers/internships.

I’m not a professional but my friends who landed top jobs said that they got recruited as they were thorough with the basics and have good communication skills

Exactly, these are the type of people I was talking about. I had a question, if a candidate doesn’t know the right answer in an interview, how is he/she supposed to react?
I’ve never given an interview and this makes me nervous

@SW-User Honesty always goes down well. If you don't know something, it's fine to say that you don't. It's as much a test of your character as your knowledge. Knowledge can be learned, character is more difficult to change.

It does take courage to say that, thank you
Simple... Be a male and be Asian. Failing those two... Make sure you lie and say you know the computer language no matter the job because they're all easy enough to learn on the job.

@Qwerty14 Yeah, it was very early in my career and I only knew three or four, and no object-orientated stuff at the time. I could easily get away with it now but now I wouldn't need to!
@GlassDog Yeah. Even before interviews I will look up code the company uses and do some examples on it. Gotta just make sure you are good at what you do. Helps I've worked for a variety of companies too.

@Qwerty14 That's something else I do now (but didn't at the start of my career). If they ever ask that question, "Is there anything you'd like to ask us about the company?" you can guarantee what they're actually asking is "Have you done your homework on us?"

I got lucky and got recruited, they hired me as a freelancer..so i was basically working two jobs...they were so impressed they offered me a full time job

where do you live? a very important first question because it should determine the path you take.... are you in the U.S.?
Nyqueal · 31-35, F
@MrGoodbar I am along the coast of NC. I was living in one of the best areas....Research Triangle near Raleigh, NC, but moved 2.5hrs away, due to family responsibilities.
