Can you work out another numeracy question?

Louise was calculating her faculty's expenses on teaching resource purchases. She found the average money spent per month over 10 months was $484. The next month, the faculty spent $583. Calculate the faculty's average monthly expenses over the 11 months.

How do you work it out?

for 10months 10*484 = 4840
next Month 1*583 = 583
Total 11 = 5423

so Avg = 5423 / 11 = 493
I don’t. I was an English major. I might be able to if I put my mind to it...but I don’t want to; math makes my head hurt. Okay. It looks like the equation would be 10x$484 + $583 divided by 11 would be the way to calculate it, but since I think so, it’s probably wrong.

@Mamapolo2016 You got the right answer, so good working out :)
@summerlove I am so surprised and so would be Mrs. and Mr. Sealy, my 8 th and 9 th grade math teachers. They moved to another town or one of them would have had to try to teach me algebra.

@Mamapolo2016 You did well.
493

583-484 = 99

99/11 = 9

484 + 9 = 493
