Why do we refrain from telling children stuff we would call adult?

Do they remain children because we keep them there? This has nothing to do with taking there childhood away. Is this a power thing or is it only information we find hard to accept ourselves? Do you wish you were taught these things early? Would the world be a better place if we were all educated on the raw truth rather than having it prettified?
It changes who they are, too early. Psychologically, their minds are not equipped or ready to handle adult issues.

@LadyGrace yes and I thoroughly appreciate that, these days it is children educating children. It should be for the their elders to educate them as they have life experience where parents are still having their own. I was raised and educated mostly by my grandparents which is why I can see such a difference in my development.
@JovialPlutonian I was referring to how the adult will educate them and what they'll be told. Some people are just sick and pedophiles use that excuse to prey on children.

@LadyGrace yes but we're not referring to these ppl

hi JovialPlutonian
Alma Elizabeth Deutscher (born February 2005 in Oxford) is an English composer, pianist, violinist, and child prodigy. At age six she composed her first piano sonata. At age seven, she completed her first major composition, the opera The Sweeper of Dreams. Aged nine, she wrote a concerto for violin and orchestra, which she premiered in a 2015 performance.[1]

At the age of ten she completed her first full-length opera, Cinderella, which had its European premiere in Vienna on 29 December 2016 under the patronage of conductor Zubin Mehta,[2][3] and in July 2017, at the age of 12, she premiered her first piano concerto, and performed it on the same evening as her full violin concerto.[4]

Let children learn but plenty to learn which is pretty first.

hi JovialPlutonian ·
Vital to protect a child which cannot by definition avoid vulnerability. Of course in War as an example a parent cannot protect a child or themselves.
Best wishes

@sogdianrock but vulnerability is a huge strength. Anyway it's all a matter of opinion but thank you again for a lovely chat x

hi JovialPlutonian ·
There is vulnerability - to be in danger - and vulnerability - to enquire.
Same to you!
Best wishes

Children are immature and irrational. They can't handle the truth--that's assuming they can even understand it.
How can they resent what they don't know? How I wish I had the expertise to convey the damage done by forcing adult content and knowledge on little, undeveloped minds. They're certainly not worried about these things, so why should it be forced on them? When they're ready, that's different. @JovialPlutonian

@LadyGrace yeh I was ereferring to when they got older
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
@LadyGrace that they would resent this if they're not told how it is
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
Thank you for those involved in this conversation, it has been very eye opening x
No, children do not have the emotional maturity to deal with many adult subjects. It is for their protection and their happiness and mental well being they are shielded from adult topics.

@LadyGrace so you believe a man cannot educate a woman and vice versa? Do you not believe there is a lot you can educate me on being a man and you a woman and vice versa? Do you not find to oppose this belief we are only restricting ourselves?
No, not at all. I was only speaking of which parent should teach the child about sex education...dad with son, and mom with daughter. @JovialPlutonian

@LadyGrace ok I respect your belief
