Why rely on facts when your intuition gives you all the answers?

sogdianrock · 61-69, M
hi JovialPlutonian
By intuition I guess you mean sub-conscious emotion? If so these are also thought complexes and they draw on all available data and experience to form a view. Emotion is hard to dissemble. Personally I think is well worth listening to but also should be cross referenced with the conscious rational mind. If both agree fine but if not I suggest listening to intuition and at least put off a decision.
BEst wishes

And no intuition is not a product of your conscious mind

hi JovialPlutonian
no intuition is an unconscious thought complex like emotion and instinct. Well instinct is hardwired but unconscious essentially. Of course all unconscious thought complexes materialise or manifest on the conscious mind and can be backtracked and understood.
The richest part of human mental life is that interplay between sub- conscious and conscious mind - and of course with the minds of others.
best wishes

@sogdianrock if that's what you wish to believe then so be it. Best wishes nonetheless my friend, it has been interesting to converse with you as always :)

Because your intuition isn't always right
WildHeart · 41-45, F
@SW-User perfectly said!
And then, make sure you cite the back slapping buffoons who repeat what you said as sources and call anyone who disagrees with names
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
Most people's intuition probably wouldn't be able to make sense of how a metal ship can float, or how a plane can fly if they didn't already know it was possible.
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
@Xuan12 yes but it all stemmed from an idea outside of their conscious awareness. If they were listening to their intuition maybe they would of checked if they could fly first before jumping off a cliff
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
@JovialPlutonian So they should have tested/experimented to establish certain facts, indeed.
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
@Xuan12 intuition just just you a glimpse of the direction to go that will serve you, it's up to us to follow it if we wish, many do not
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
Ah you lot are funny but we will all do as we wish nonetheless
RealtaReoite · 61-69, M
Well, mostly because way too many of those ready answers my intuition is so happy to supply turn out to be horribly worng.

Though it is, occasionally, glorious when one of them turns out right.
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
@RealtaReoite but that is not your intuition but rather fear based thoughts of your past experiences. You would call that living in retrospect, although no experience is the same many choose to base the outcomes of their new experience from their past ones.
RealtaReoite · 61-69, M
@JovialPlutonian Oh. Well in that case, my intuition receiver is borken. I'm an engineer and I'm just not getting answers to circuit design or software problems from beyond what my mind can comprehend. Facts and experience -- and occasional gut feelings -- are what I got that I can (more or less) trust.
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
@RealtaReoite it is so very subtle
ChokeMeDaddy · 26-30, T
Facts are a tool. If you do something that defies the facts but it works for you then keep doing it. Pragmatism bitches can you dig it
cycleman · 61-69, M
cuz the intuition comes from gut instincts , not facts.
Lackwittyname · 51-55, M
Seems to work for Trump, facts schmacts
SW-User
Because intuition can be wrong.
Amylynne · 26-30, F
it doesnt
