@Lacemaker Regardless of who makes these stupid rules, it explains the abysmal state of the UK educational system as compared to the rest of Europe.

It is not easy to give a certain answer. The most objective way to measure their quality is PISA rankings

@Cierzo I agree. No matter what people say, let's look at objective measures. That's a good start.

I think the smartest people come from Asian countries, but I heard the most positive things about Finland.

@SeductiveCactus sorry i forgot they put on plays and make little kids dress as aboriginal kids and make others wear a note around their neck with the word sorry and the others made to dress as nuns pretending to abuse aboriginal kids
Mean while when they get older they cant read or write and have a future on welfare

As a western chauvinis, it really comes down to morals, freedom, and culture! And in those categories, none compares.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@SW-User This is a post about school systems, not morals, freedom, or culture. Not only that, but USA is in dead last place in all three of those categories. At least, in the developed world. Morals? Don't make me laugh, how the hell can you call a country moral when it starts wars all over the world and bombs everyone and kills its own citizens with drones? Freedom? Yeah, maybe sixty years ago. Today you don't even have the freedom to drive without a seat belt or smoke weed or make a phone call without being recorded. How free are you when you're spied on constantly by your own government and recorded by public cameras in every city?

@PissAndVinegar Singapore might have good academic results but it's a brutal educational regime that fails to produce good results overall.

European countries (with the execption of the UK,) produce better results overall. Scandanavian countries have a slight edge over the rest with Finland leading the way.

In the UK, too many head teachers see the school as their own little empire, where they can strut around like the petty dictators they are. They are far too concerned with what colour socks a student is wearing to have time to actually do the job they're paid to do.
