It's the first day
And nothing seems to be ok.
People crowding all around,
Talking, laughing until the sound
Downs you, drowns you
Till you can't breathe,
And all you can think is
How you can leave.
But you stay and you pray
That you can just hold out
Standing alone and silent
In the middle of the crowd.

There were times I felt like that even in college, but then I had the endless warm embrace of music and a number of well-meaning heartbreaks lining up to teach me that most people are shit and they're not worth it.

And yet those few who are worth it will always find a way somehow to be in your life. In a weird way, you have to trust that inevitable uncertainty.

It always comes through. :)
