I Can Relate To This Song

Someone told me long ago
There's a calm before the storm,
I know; it's been comin' for some time.
When it's over, so they say,
It'll rain a sunny day,
I know; shinin' down like water.

I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain
Comin' down on a sunny day?

Yesterday, and days before,
Sun is cold and rain is hard,
I know; been that way for all my time.
'Til forever, on it goes
Through the circle, fast and slow,
I know; it can't stop, I wonder.

I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain
Comin' down on a sunny day?

Yeah!

I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain
Comin' down on a sunny day?

“Have You Ever Seen the Rain?” (1970-71), by Creedence Clearwater Revival, is a song that resonates with me, but I wish it didn’t. For me, it captures the sense of hopelessness one has when suffering from depression. Sometimes, you can’t account for why you feel as empty and worthless as you do, but you feel that way nonetheless, and you don’t think it will ever go away. Even when you have a “sunny day” and things seem to be going well, you still feel miserable. You feel like you should be able to snap out of it, but you can’t. It doesn’t work that way, unfortunately.

Actually I've had this happen to me literally I was standing out in the sunny yard and then suddenly a downpour of ran came at me into the yard like a wall.. Weirdest thing ever
