I Accept You For Who You Are

You're not perfect. Your pain is easy to spot along with the bandages you are constantly applying to hide it with. Your scars are part of what makes you so beautiful to me. They are your humanity. A symbol of the wrongs done to you and the wrong you've done to others. Don't hide them from me.

Beautiful. A young man who had the profile known as Silver on EP once told me that my scars were what made me beautiful. I had spent my whole life trying to cover them and he was telling me to remove the coverings. He kept telling me this until I believed it and today I'm proud of ever scar, Mark, and blemish. He taught me to be me, the real me, and I will love him forever for that.

@Fungirlmmm umm that's such a romantic story! sorry i didnt get from your post that you actually ever met "Silver" 🤗 so lucky and wonderful you could travel to his area and meet in real life - not just "social media best friends" but real oldfashioned friends :)

@newbie I actually met hundreds of folks from the early days of EP. It was different from this site in the beginning. It was a support site and people didn't say mean things. I've had coffee or lunch or dinner with a lot of those guys and gals. I attended baby showers for some and weddings for others and been on girls' trips with still others and planning a get together with a couple now actually for late in the fall.
