letters to people who'll never read them.

I dunno why I thought about you today. you've been far, far from mind for many, many years. occasionally resurfacing. probably not all the things you'd like me to recall honestly, but first nights with snl, couch time, and then Beethoven with oranges before round two are some of the more fun ones.

I wonder what happened over the years. I know you said you wanted to stay in touch but that wasn't really in me. I hope you don't hold that against me or keep me in low regard due to that.

I found a page you'd created somewhere, years ago. some of your art. some mention of your son. I really can't imagine you raising a kid, honestly. and god help you if he's anything like you. you always were a half step off of hell on wheels.

I don't mean to make it sound like you're a horrible person, at least no more horrible than I am. we had some pretty fantastic times. some pretty shitty times too. and I think we both know we couldn't have fit together for too very long. and the ways we collided provided some fun, but also would have turned into a situation of lit matches and leaky powder kegs in a magazine.

wherever you've made it, I hope things are going well. I hope you're still a little bit crazy, perhaps just tempered with some years. good fortuned to you, TM.
oh. and you were right about gaiman. I totally should have paid more attention to him back in the day.
