I See the Education System Leaving People Behind

As a parent I am frustrated on So many levels. Partly because the public school system is failing my children. My only fault is that I can't afford private school. I am also not qualified to teach at home, I don't have the training. I'm sick and tired of the teachers undermining the parents, what ever happened to listening to the parents, and working with the parent. Obviously everyone loves what's best for their children, but being a parent in these testing years is very hard for me. I do my best as a parent, but it's hard to watch my children in a system where they are set up to fail. I'm tired of the minor complaints that the teachers give, and the pressure placed upon my 6 year old, for goodness sake she's in the 1st grade she has lots of room to catch up, it's not like she's going off to university next year. It would only damage her confidence that the teacher is complaining about the lack of ambition at the point. When I went to school kids were allowed to be kids. They should be given room to grow.
In the US it's a pay for play system. If you can't afford a private school or to live in a district with great public schools then you're kids are subject to a horrible education. Unless they're great athletes or geniuses in a subject. Then they're granted scholarships by rich folks who pick and chose at their whim.
