see, this has always kinda confused me. I'ma go kinda half ass nerdrage here. later in the movies, yoda tells luke - a jedi uses the force for knowledge and defense, never to attack. ok. cool. makes sense.
but if we scroll back.... one of the very first things a mostlyghostly obiwan tells luke to do is use the force to guide his torpedoes that will be blowing up a death star.
clearly using the force to attack. so either yeah it's ok to use the force to attack stuff (which kinda turns the jedi into hypocrites), it's ok to use sometimes (which is kinda even more hypocritical) but only for the really big, bad nasties, or.... ben is setting luke up to fail and fall to the dark side right out of the gate. which seems... ya know. mean.


.... tangent. rant ended. sorry.

Someone I knew associated the dark side with great power and seduction. They were trying to convince me away from my good side. Hahaha.
