Good Morning

Rainy morning and a bit cool too. Excellent day to write. I'm on my "sun" porch looking out over my keyboard getting my thoughts together as I watch the horses graze to my left and the rain bouncing on the pond off to their right causing a dance of splash. Please enjoy your day as you do what you do on a Wednesday. One of the great things about being retired is doing what you want to do. I may be old in body but young in mind and spirit. I love this life, don't you? If not you should. There's so much beauty in it that the ugly is just a small henderence. Believe in love and joy of the heart!

I was grateful to retire at 60 resulting from my service in the U.S. Navy. It was a hefty sacrifice for a young man in my 20s but has certainly paid off for itself now.

@Coletracer
You must have seen the draft during the Vietnam Nam era. I was glad to have the choice in 1979 and chose the Navy.

@Pfuzylogic Yes, Vietnam was hot and heavy.

I never faced armed conflict although I did earn an Indian Ocean expeditionary medal for the Iranian crisis in 1980. You showed up, that makes the difference for the defense of our country.
This is so lovely to read, my friend! Life is grand. And beauty surrounds us. We just need to notice it. I cannot wait to retire. To be a woman of leisure...Happy day and evening to see you here again!

@ammelee I left this site once before because of all the "claptrap" came back hoping.
@Coletracer You mustn't let that drive you away. You are a welcome joy here!

What about the people who can't afford to retire? I am happy for you though.
Coletracer · M
@morrgin It's sad of course when that happens and it happens more often than not but with a strong heart and lots of determination maybe, good Lord willing, things will change and one day mankind will do right by the elderly and do as God intended. Taking care of the ones that need it and supporting the ones that don't. I am fortunate and count my blessings. Much love sweetie. Thank you for your response.
