I Am Not Where I Wanted to Be At This Age

If I could go back in time and tell my younger self something it would be to learn to love myself a little more and don't care about what others think. I'm 26 years old and I thought by my age I would have had my life figured out. I have no idea where I see myself 10 years from now. Frankly, I don't care 10 years from now where I am. I'm focused on the present and bettering myself so I can be the best version of myself. I'm not focused anymore on what other people are doing. I'm focused on what I'm doing. I used to think I was a failure for not achieving everything I wanted to by my age now. You're only a failure when you finally give up and give in. I'm not giving up any time soon.

I'm 60 years old and I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up. In the mean time I have had a very full and fulfilling life.

[c=#4C0073]I've got a couple years on you and Im the exact opposite. When I was a teenager all I did was work, study, and plan for my future. When I got to college all I did was work, study, and plan for my future. It wasn't until I was 22 that I met a friend who would literally drag me out of my apartment kicking and screaming if she had to in order for me to have fun. Don't get me wrong, when I partied, I partied! It was just extremely rare for me to do so. I regret that now. I'm successful, but I wish I had taken time to be free and live. Right now, I feel like I missed out on a lot. When you're young nobody really expects much from you and you get to be free. If you're old trying to relive the youth you never had it's a bit sad and harder if you have responsibilities.....Anyway I said that to say this. You have a lot of time ahead of you. Don't regret the journey you took to get here. The scenic route usually makes for the best trips.😊🤗[/c]

Good insight... I kind of wish I could be at this stage... but I'm not; I'm far behind. And, it mostly makes me sad. But, I am genuinely happy for you...

Gosh you're 26! Embrace it, enjoy every moment because when it's gone you can't imagine now how you'll want it back. I speak sincerely to you ((hug))
