I Am Not Where I Wanted to Be At This Age

Honestly I didn't know where I'd be at this age when I was a child or even a young adult. I was a bit of a self made man, a free spirit and drifter. Just took whatever opportunity was in front of me at the time. It wasn't until I was 28, that I bought into the "You need a plan for your life" schtick. So I made a plan, set goals and ran into framework of society to fit the mold they had reserved for me. Get an education, get a job, get married, get a promotion, get a house, get a dog...cause cats are evil, start saving for retirement. Well I went to college, networked, studied and then graduated. That's when my well laid plans went up in flames. The quote "If you wanna hear God laugh, then tell Him your plans" comes to mind. Things eventually worked out though and I'm thankful for the experiences, people and things I've gained through my derailed plans. I met my beautiful wife, my two best friends, my pups Sammie and Maybelle. I'm still not where I thought I'd be but I'm cool with where I've been and have learned my own proverbial lesson...planning for the future doesn't mean you create it, it just means you'll be ready when it comes around to you.
