I Am Not Where I Wanted to Be At This Age

Had a birthday not too long ago. I still don't know how to drive. Don't know many people. Don't have a "support" group. Don't go anywhere. Don't have any savings, feel like I'm going nowhere with my life, living paycheck to paycheck and paying down my student loans.

I have hobbies, I'm into art. I have things I can do for money but I lack the proactiveness and self-confidence to do the things that can make me successful in life.

I can picture the way I want everything to be so crystal clear. Where I want to live, the way I want to eat and take care of myself, the kind of people I want to be around.

I don't even want to live a lavish life. I just want a comfortable one. And I want to be surrounded by those that I love and to be able to take care of them.

I get spontaneous bursts of motivation to do better with my life. To achieve my dreams, chase my happiness. Only for the motivation to die off within a few days, sometimes a few months if I'm lucky.

My downfall is the fact I want to be free of society so bad, and I get depressed because I am a (semi) functioning member of society, and I am always escaping into my head, or the internet to get away from that fact instead of using those feelings to propel me into a state of hard working towards my financial freedom where in that state I could do the things I really want to do with my life.

Ah life.

Lets just hope I don't end up like one of those 70+ year old people working a minimum wage job.

Idea: (I did this) Make a dream board with things you want to do by the end of the year. Use pictures. Look at it so it motivates you. They have to be realistic. Have five things on it. I achieved 4 out of 5. It is very motivating. On mine 2 were drive to the south of France, learn Portuguese. I drove to the south of France and I started learning Portuguese but that's the one I didn't achieve.

They have to be small achievable goals that will make you feel good. When you look at them after doing 3-4 by the end of the year it motivates more.

I do it now without a board. Last year I went to college for mechanics. Am still at college. And went to euro Disney and started working for myself cleaning. This year I wanted to be in a paid mechanics job, I start my induction on Monday. I want to go to a water park for a holiday, I have one booked. I'm working towards goals still and achieving them.

I used to be very all over the place which I prefer to call spontaneous but it was hit and miss on what I did. I spent years studying stuff I didn't want to do for a job or couldn't because realistically I wouldn't fit with me as a person. That's why it's so important to assess what you are actually capable of doing and want to do. The goals must be achievable.

My college one last year was literally go to college see if you're any good at it, pass the course. Start cleaning as a business for myself. At the end of the year decide between cleaning (I find it relaxing) and mechanics.

I have another business which is just fun to me - entertaining at childrens parties. I loved doing my own childrens parties. I still do this.

Ideally I'd like to clean a couple of days (I earn reasonable money - double minimum wage - and there's no stress) do mechanics a couple of days and one day a week do childrens parties. I'm working out if that is realistic but for now my main focus is pass level 3 mechanics.

So pick 5 small achievable goal that are realistic, put them on a dream board in pictures and decorate it and at the end of the year when you've achieved a couple feel good about it.
