I Admire Wit and Intelligence

Ingredients Of Conversation... Lately, I've noticed I haven't had an in-depth conversation for ages. When, I attempt to, it leaves the other person either confused or uninterested. I mean, I'm not talking about documentaries and fossilized topics here. How about the roots of mankind's mindset, what we want to change in the world, poetry, surrealistic art, and of course, some comedy.

Gah, I'm nearly giving up on people. I'm not this Einstein myself. But I just want a little flavour and some deviating subjects to talk about. Anyone else?

The art of conversation is diminished by digitalized communication. So much more than typed letters is involved in good conversation; body language, voice modulations, facial expression, and eye to eye contact, all are part of the communicative effect of conversation. How can one do that in a medium like EP?

Beautifully said. I can agree on all levels. I like observing people a lot and one major thing I've noticed that the more "problems" a person has perceived within themselves, the more they... socialize. Yet when we are isolates, we think a lot inwardly.

I think of it like this. We are all independent because we all have both our arms and legs, both our eyes and ears, a pair of lips, two nostrils, but one heart. Why? Because the other lies within our relationships with others.

It's just a clever thing.. May be inaccurate, but seems factual.

It sounds very loving and romantic to me and my hope about you is that you will find that heart to beat with yours as one. It has been very good to chat with you. And now, since you've proven your point that good conversation can occur digitally, I must go have my supper and do some paperwork.
Have a good evening - I offer you a friendly hug

An in depth conversation cab be very stimulating and when an occasional bit of humor added in, especially at unexpected moment then it can be even more interesting

Once again I agree, like having the same lunch every day without ever changing

What a drag that would be..

What a drag indeed. Some days you want salad, other days pasta and som days a big bowl of ice cream.........

Maybe it isn't everybody else, maybe you haven't had an in-depth conversation for ages because of you?

Nect time you chat to your Dad, tell him about this conversation. ;-)

And no doubt the beginning of another in-depth conversation.

“A conversation is a dialogue, not a monologue. That's why there are so few good conversations: due to scarcity, two intelligent talkers seldom meet.” ~ Truman Capote

I like that quote.

I've been in the same boat for years. It doesn't help that I've always yearned for these types of conversations since the age of 10.
