Look up: "Dad Jokes" and pick some not so horrible ones! Some are only for 4 year olds and some will make your kid think before they get it. I like hideous puns and double meanings! And the ridiculous.

Obviously they are not be honest. The fact that they acknowledge you're even trying, proves that they recognize the humor, they just won't bring themselves to accept it.
