I Enjoy Meaningful Conversations

They drive me nuts! Especially when it comes from some guy on here that I don't know or have never spoken to. It's fine out in the real world. "Hi. How are you is a greeting used for face to face meetings first time or anytime. On this board and others there is a dirty of subject matter that I discuss. If some starts a conversation like that what does it say about them? That they simply saw my photo and are attempting a hit me up.

For me, and when here or other internet places. When someone (mostly males) send me a message that begins with, hi, hey, you look pretty, is that you n the picture, blah blah blah. With nothing of sustenance in it. I can assume that they are lazy and attempting a hit me up. If the message begins with hi, how are you, what do you think, what does ____ mean, did you really mean to say, or any other thought provoking conversation. I'll pick up the topic and joyfully have a conversation.

I think though that lots of people message back and forth like they are speaking on the telephone. With polite back and forth banter to start a conversation. The lag in that kind of message is what I find annoying.

Hey girl! Me too. I just ignore the one line PMs. Most of my friends on EP and now here know that I'm more into writing letters than the "hi, how are you" crap. You just need to figure out how to weed through the shallows. :-)

Sometimes, it is easier in real life just to say that.
But, here were you got time to think and make a reply, it is annoying.
