I Know Things Happen For A Reason

Suddenly, instead of having a full time job, I'll start coming to work on-call only for some signatures needed until the company totally shuts down...it's bankrupt. No severance pay.

I knew this would happen and coincidentally I ran into an online job last year. It's quite turning out well because I already got the grip and received incentives. I was even given more hours to work. But of course I cannot go on it in a full blast because of this office job. So I only work like 2- 4 hours on weekdays and 6-8 hours on weekends.

I was really thinking of my budget when I read the memo. I must be more frugal. Little luxuries must take a back seat.
Could my savings and part-time job sustain me until I can cope with this life-changing sudden arrangement?

Then I was given a check for 11k.
WOW... I didn't expect it! I thought I can never have my hair done this weekend and also skip the Spa. Yeah I'm shallow but these are the things I do to unwind after a hard work.

Things happen when we least expect it!
And it's almost my Friday, Yay!

Take the 11K and put it in your savings account, or better yet in a 6-month CD earning interest. Otherwise chances are you'll end up burning through it in a few months and be right back where you started, except with huge regret to go with the bills.

@DudeistPriest thank you for the link. why are you already in a retirement scheme, nearing there already?
@1Dogma 😁 Yepper. Well several years out actually. But I'm a meticulous planner and set things in motion years out in terms of saving and investing for what I want. Yeah I take pride in being cheap, but the bright side I get everything I really want, high quality and inexpensively. Panama has been on my planning radar for at least four years now. Can't wait. having popcorn yet to go with those videos?

I was reading that feeling terrible for you, then got to the 11k part, that's awesome..also, im trying to take a break from drinking, your name and avatar are not helping
1Dogma · F
@Bushmanoz LOL...sorry. I really don't drink much. Just to chill on a weekend when I want to sleep ASAP. I do it at home while on Netflix. Yeah, I'm a cheap drinker.

True, it was terrible at first and gave me a complete headache but now I can relax. Cheers 🥂

@1Dogma lol, just made it harder, I like a good..or poor Margarita occasionally..and a beer, not a big drinker myself, but decided to have a break regardless.

@Bushmanoz if you're just an occasional drinker like me, you have nothing to worry.
