I Enjoy Helping Others

It's one of the main reasons I'm on here. I know that 99% of the things I say to people will have little to no effect on their lives, but that's okay. I enjoy my time on here for it's own sake, regardless of how much or how little it accomplishes for others. And hey, there's always that tiny chance that something I say will help someone see things from a new perspective - one that lets them find the strength that they already had, or see the beauty that was already there.

You never know the impact you have. I have a EP friend that made a nice comment about something I wrote, up untill now nothing extraordinary, but when I loged on to EP, I just had a really bad morning, kids were testing limits, got to daycamp late with the boys, girls acted up before getting to daycare, forgot to take out the trash (garbage can down my 1 km driveway...) You get the picture loll That kind word made me smile, made me step back from the situation and enjoy the moment...after that everything went smooth like a sunny day in August is supposed to be :-)

I sometimes have trouble believing comments like that - but you're right, sometimes something we say can turn someone's whole day around. It's easy to forget that, or to assume that this particular comment or that particular message won't make an impact - but the truth is that we never know which words might open doors for people and let in the light.

You might think that way, but if you can make a difference to someone in here, then is all worth it...as long as your helping, is a win win!!!

"as long as your helping, is a win win!" - So true - I like your way of putting it.

I like helping others, particularly when they don't know I did it.

That's the most selfless sort of help to give - just make sure not to hold back from helping people when they DO know you did it.

Indeed, take that chance .You never know who might need a kind word : )

So true - we rarely find out if what we said made a difference for the person or not, but at least we put something out there that created the possibility of making a difference. That's all we can do.
