Me too. Sometimes I wonder why? I mean, is it more about making us happy about ourselves or making the people we help happy?

I think you're on to something. Sometimes, when I do a random act of kindness and someone thanks me, I say "It was selfish really. I would've felt like a dick if I hadn't..."
I do believe that.

It should be both. If you make someone else happy, it should make you happy and vice versa
