I Need to Rant

Highschool. A Friday night. You had your friend call me and ask me out for you. I had a crush on you for awhile at that point, so of course I said yes. We talked on the phone for a bit, and decided we'd meet up the next day at the park.

Saturday, I was all excited. I spent an hour getting ready. Made myself look as good as I could. Go to the park, you're not there yet. No problem, I was a little early anyway. An hour passes, no sign of you. Two hours, I'm worried. I go home and call you (this was before the time of cellphones). You said you weren't feeling well and couldn't make it. Okay, I understood. Hope you get feeling better.

Sunday, I call you to see if you're better. No answer. Oh well, I'll see you tomorrow at school.

Monday, you're not there. That night I call again...no answer.

Tuesday, I see you in the halls. I smile and walk up to you. "You feeling better?" I ask. You answer with "I want to break up." "why?" "I just want to."

I wouldn't even call this a relationship, and it was highschool type crap anyway, but I've always wondered the why. Somehow, we remained friends anyway, so at least I had that.

Fast forward to a year ago. You see me where I work. We talk for a bit, you ask for my number. We start texting, very flirty. You also say you're looking for a job and wondering if i'd put in a good word. Sure, no problem. texting continues, flirting intensifies. We even set up a date. Nothing major, eating some dinner and watching a few movies with your kid.

It's the day of the date. Few hours before, actually when I get a text saying you had to cancel because your kid was sick. Tell him i said get feeling better and since he's upset that he doesn't get to see the movie, tell him we can reschedule and i'll bring two movies we can watch instead. "sounds great!"

Few more days of flirty texting..kid's starting to feel better. then I get the text. "So, my ex-husband is quitting drinking. I'm gonna give him another chance."

"Hey, good for him! Hope it works out for you guys." Few more (much less flirty) texts and I haven't heard from you sense.

Still wondering the 'why'.

Don't know what to say except at least they stayed true to character.

@hami1091 kinda comforting, actually, to know that some things never change lol.

Just felt like a fool for falling for it twice.

I'm sorry. So not worth anymore of your time.
SarahAndSamantha · 46-50, F
@Fungirlmmm I can guarantee it won't happen again. :)
