I Need to Rant

So I found out recently about this.
Now the family and I had decided to go on a 5 week holiday, so we needed to start looking for house sitters, because we have two dogs and some fish. We went through a few people, and they were quite nice. But there was this one lady, who had come in for an interview and she had her mom with me. The thing is with house sitters, they're free, and they always have been on this site that we looked upon.

I thought everything was fine, but there were some details that my parents didn't like, and I had never really looked into it until one day I remembered it and asked what the fuss was all about. They explained to me that that lady who had come in with her mum was originally giving a free service, but when she came to us and obviously saw out home, she thought she could make some money out of it, that pissed me off royally. She had asked mum and dad if we could pay her so she could attend her study, or something like that, at the end of the day, she wanted us to pay her.

I was glad mum and dad had dropped her because that was really rude, because her service was free and she just thought that we should pay for her tuition. I forgot what the house sitting site was, but they are meant to be true to their service, and she had stated that she was free. So it was a complete smack in the face when she decided that she wanted to be paid... I mean, some of you might say, "hey, it's her decision whether she wants to get paid", and I understand, but how it went by us was unprofessional, and even worse, I think she brought her mother in as if it were some form of way to guilt trip us into accepting the service.
Was not impressed, any house sitters out there that do that, shame on you, yes you may need money, but think about it before you offer your services before changing the service on the person who will take you in, it's just common decency
It’s easehtially a contract between two parties. Either there is a voluntary agreement or there is not. No need to get upset if the parties cannot agree on terms. Find another party that will accept your terms.

@BiasForAction Oh, I'm not upset about not agreeing with her, but it's how she handled the situation and the sudden change of mind after offering her service for free, we did find someone else.
Thank you.
