I Love My Family

My little sister is getting married next month and my parents are both giving her away, not just my dad but both mom and dad are walking her down the isle. I'm her maid of honor and this will be the happiest day of her life. I cannot wait, I'm so excited and happy for her and am anxious for this day to come. Its her dream come true and I couldn't be more happy and honored that I will be that for her.

She has waited for this day to come for so long and its approaching fast, its hard to believe that my little sister is actually going to be a wife and she is marrying a great guy too, that makes it even more wonderful. We all love him like he is already a part of our family.

I truly do have a wonderful family and wouldn't change them for anyone else in the world. I was blessed to have an older brother and a little sister and two loving parents. I don't think a girl could ask for anything more than that.

I came across this "I Love My Family" story and wanted to share a little about my own.

I think family is important and more importantly, the closeness you have with them makes all the difference. I am quite fortunate to have the family I do and I count my blessings for them each and every day.

Cherish your loved ones because they are the ones who hold the most importance to your life. At least for me, I know I cannot speak for anyone else, but I'm just saying and sharing with you the value of family what your loved ones can mean to you. Don't let time pass by without letting them know how important they are to you, because that time goes by so quickly. Its the little moments with them and the big ones too when your all together and time is enjoyed and well spent, even in a day.

When my sister gets married next month, its going to be the best day of her life and I can of wait to be able see that part of her dream come true. She is my only sister and we are very close, that's one reason why this day will be so fantastic for her. Its hard to believe that my little sister is finally getting married. What a day it will be for her, I don't think there will be a dry eye in the house.
I wrote this last month and today is April 18, we had her wedding yesterday. They officially tied the knot and now I have a brother-in-law. It was a beautiful wedding, I couldn't hold back my tears. It was such an honor for me to be my little sisters Maid Of Honor on the happiest day of her life. It was emotional, wonderful and a blast all at once. Our parents looked so nice walking her down the aisle. It was quite a memorable day for us all.

Very well said! You are fortunate indeed. It's great to see how happy you are for another person's good fortune too. Have a great time at the wedding! I wish the couple a lifetime of happiness together.

"Giving her away" sounds like an awkward way to word it. xD
@Becket: Yikes that sounds horrid but I think that does actually happen in some other cultures.

@MamaButterfly: Yes, other cultures certainly do. That's why I like the idea of "giving away the bride". The father who raised and protected her is passing the mantle as the most important man in her life on to her husband, with his approval. I always thought that was beautiful, not awkward.
It is yes, especially when you put it that way. The way you word is certainly more meaningful, I worded it as that because I meant it in the tradional sense but I understand their thoughts of it sounding awkward. Perhaps I could have worded it differently, but either way...both my parents will be walking her down the isle and giving their blessing to the man she will be spending the rest of her life with and for my sister, it was her preference to do it this way which I think is beautiful.
