I Write Poetry

Because of my job as a truck driver i am away from home around 330 days every year, Christmas is one of the very few times I have enough time off to visit with family and friends. This poem corny as it is was inspired by the holiday season.

Is it Christmas again?
It seems much too soon
Why just yesterday
I'd swear it was June

Is it Christmas again?
The time goes so fast
It's hard to believe
Another year's passed

Is it Christmas again?
Ask the girls and boys
They wait all year long
For presents and toys

Is it Christmas again?
With its cookies and cakes
I'm partial myself
To adult eggnog shakes

Is it Christmas again?
The tree shines so brightly
As all gather 'round
With hearts dancing lightly

Is it Christmas again?
People strolling along
Stopping outside my door
And i join in their song

Yes, it's Christmas again
The signs are all there
With snow on the ground
And a chill in the air

It's Christmas again
May you all share good cheer
Merry Christmas my friends
And a Happy New Year
