I Write Poetry

There is a laugh I wish to hear again,
a light I wish to see,
a hand I wish to hold again,
and in her presence be.

There is a star I wish to see shine again,
a bird I wish to watch fly,
a smile I wish to wear again,
and dry the tears from her eyes,

There are things I wish to feel again,
a love I wish to mend,
a life I wish to live again,
me and my only friend.
