I Write Poetry

In the rustling of the rushes
In the stillness of the night
Comes the slight insistent whisper
Comes the faintest hint of light

When all around is turmoil
When your world is bleak and dark
Close your eyes and open up your heart
Reach for peace and find the spark

In the downpour, chased by lightning
Haunted by the boom of thunder
Have no fear of things so frightening
Close your eyes and feel the wonder

When there's no one there around you
When you're sad and on your own
Feel the presence of the holy
Know you never walk alone

Soon the dark of night will vanish
With the coming of the dawn
And your fears shall all be banished
And your troubles will be gone
