I Write Poetry

Defend me from the demons that chatter in my head,
Save me from the monsters that hide under my bed,
Unchain me from the memories that forever haunt my past,
Deliver me from the mirror, the other side of its glass,
Lift me from this paper, reading words a broken soul,
Empty me of numbness, the only piece that makes me whole,
My life a tragic play, I lay a victim on its stage,
Awaiting the fated heroine to come and free me from my cage.
