Depends on where in the state you live. In Seattle or Bellevue, all you can hope to get is a cramped studio. A little further north and south, and you'll really have to go for the lower-end apartments since commuting is popular.

Everywhere else is a lot more affordable, so that much money should be enough. I live just outside Seattle and barely qualified despite an 800+ credit rating and making $20 an hour. I fear that I might get priced out without a second job soon

Cost of living in this state is crazy. I live in Tacoma. Make $25 an hour

Take what you make AFTER tax (net) per month and divide it by 3. Thats what many landlords look at as what you can afford for rent
