I Have Type 1 Diabetes

It's actually my kid who has type 1. It's usually called Juvenile Diabetes because it's usually detected in childhood but late/ adult onset does occur.
It's an auto-immune disorder, unconnected with diet or lifestyle.
People with type 1 diabetes are usually thin, and in fact one of the symptoms of untreated type 1 diabetes is unexplained weight loss.
A little public service announcement for you!
Type 1 diabetes can be deadly so if you have any suspicion your child could have it, get them tested.
